Soups, stews, and casseroles simply taste better when warm. A thermos is one solution, but not all of them are ideal for food that’s chunkier. When choosing a vessel, consider its size, shape, and insulating power. Here are a few we recommend.

Hydro Flask’s thermoses are tightly sealed, so you’ll never have to worry about anything leaking in your bag. They are compact, ideal for soups, stews, pasta, or any meal you want to keep warm.

YETI is known for rugged products with extreme insulation. The YETI Rambler is large enough to use for soups and stews, but also would work for hot beverages. It comes in colors like olive green, brick red, clay, seafoam, and purple.

If you want a basic thermos that will keep your food hot (or cold), this one is the most affordable option. It comes with a folding spoon that fits neatly into the top part of the thermos. It holds 16 ounces, and you can use the top cover as a small cup or bowl.

If you love S’well water bottles, their vacuum-insulated Eats containers are worth checking out. The stainless steel walls keep food hot or cold for hours and the container is freezer-, fridge- and washing machine-friendly. The triple-wall makes sure that condensation won’t build up on the outside. S’well also includes a nested prep bowl that can be placed in the microwave or freezer.
